My Answers to the Hallotober Tag Questions.

1. What’s your favourite thing about October?

I love this time of year, been a Ginge I don’t fair well in the heat of summer, but October brings the sunshine and blue skies if we are lucky. I love the colours of autumn too as the leaves begin to change and fall.

2. Are you a big celebrator of Halloween?

I will admit me and the family aren’t massive celebrators of Halloween. We don’t go all out and extravagant like some with decorations and full blown Halloween parties.

We have sweets in for the local kids that come knocking and also get the kids dressed up and head out Trick or Treating.

3. What’s your favourite horror movie?

Bit of scream-esk question this one. Me and Sarah both enjoy Horrors and those sorts of thriller movies and there are many that we could class as favourites. Too many to list really but we are wanting to watch in order The Conjuring and Annabelle Films.

4. Would you rather a cosy night in watching horrors or a big night out in a costume?

There is only one answer to this one and that is because after all we are parents of 5 kids. Childcare is a nightmare to sort out for if we want to leave the house for some sanity and usually tend to have Date Nights at home. I will have to say Cosy night in watching horrors.

5. Which has been your most favourite costume to date?

Not sure if this is meant to mean what the family have dressed up as costume wise or best I’ve seen in general – so I shall answer both.

For the kids we got Pork Chop and Mouse about 3 years back now a Spider Witch Costume and accessories. They looked seriously wicked, plus pig who was still a 1yr old used to chuckle her head off at the large spider and web that decorated the front of the costume.

Best I’ve seen to date in general has to be this one below.

I just love it, it is one of those that just makes you chuckle. Baby making a great escape

6. Bobbing for apples or pin the hat on the witch?

I have actually never played pin the hat on the witch so I am going to have to say Bobbing for apples.

7. How do you celebrate Halloween?

We have Halloween movie nights, either me and Sarah with a horror or as a family with the wide selection of Halloween themed children’s films such as the classics Casper and The Adams Family.

8. What’s your least favourite horror?

I love a gory or suspense thriller style horror but I can never get into the old classic slasher style horror movies.

9. Do you have a favourite trick or treating memory?

I do as it happens. My Mum and Dad when I was a lad weren’t big celebrators of Halloween so we never really did much trick or treating until me and my older brother were around 10 or 11.

One year in particular, I had gone to a mates house the afternoon of Halloween for tea, his mum helped get me kitted out for trick or treating. An old Scream mask and a large Black Garden waste Sack. Wasn’t the greatest award winning costume but it did the job and we went trick or treating around the housing estate where they lived.

Typical young lads aged 11 or 12, armed with silly string if anyone decided to opt for the trick.

10. What’s your favourite thing about Halloween?

I love how the kids enjoy it so much and get so excited about it. Once Halloween has passed it Is the road to Christmas then which is more exciting.

11. Scary costume or Silly costume?

Well as Sarah tells me numerous times daily – I am a massive childish silly idiot and worse than the kids sometimes. So for me it would have to be some form of silly Halloween style costume.

12. What’s your favourite Halloween candy?

Fried Eggs! Fried Eggs all day long, especially the haribo ones. Or Jelly Babies. The girls have become accustomed to the Dad Tax if they ever get a decent hoard of these inparticular on their trick or treat adventure.

13. Do you believe in ghosts?

Yep, sure I’ve witnessed one in the past, heard sounds and seen suspecting things.

Me and a few mates in our teen years -14 or 15yrs old. We used to wander around local graveyards with a digital camera in the dark. Acting as if we were part of the crew of Most Haunted. Checking the snaps we would get on the PC for orbs, misting or anything suspicious to paranormal activity.
